I am an Associate Professor in SERC, IISc. Prior to joining IISc, from 1999-2003, I was in Innovative Computing Lab of Dr. Jack Dongarra, Computer Science Department, University of Tennessee, USA, first as a PhD student and then as a senior research associate.
My research interests are in parallel and grid computing. Our lab, GARL, deals with the following primary areas:
►Application Frameworks: Runtime frameworks for irregular applications, hybrid execution strategies, and programming models for accelerator-based systems; processor allocation, mapping and remapping strategies for Torus networks for different application classes including irregular, multi-physics, climate and weather applications.
►Middleware for Production Supercomputers: The objective is to abstract the complexities of the job submissions in supercomputing systems, and to provide quick turnaround times for the user jobs.
►Fault-tolerance: To sustain long-duration executions in the presence of failures, involving techniques like checkpointing and replication.
