Medical Imaging
Group (MIG) is part of Supercomputer Education and Research Center in
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The group's active research
interests include medical image computing and analysis.
The group currenly
consists of two Ph.D. and three M.Sc. students. The convenor (P.I.) of
the group is Phaneendra K. Yalavarthy.
Research Projects
Computation of dynamic medical images in
real time is a challenging problem, where the data acquistion speeds
are close to 30 frames per second. The reported computing speeds are
only 10 frame per second.
Medical Image analysis plays an important role in radiology and
oncology, where the emphasis is either on detection of a diesease or
charcterization of the disease. The computer aided tools have become in
dispensible in the clinic.
