For the
Lecturer positions, the prospective candidates must
- have a Ph.D in the
relevant area
- be preferably below
32 years of age
1-2 years post
doctoral experience is desirable.
The position
of Lecturers will be in PB-3 i.e. Rs.15,600-39,100 with minimum pay
of Rs.20,150/- with Grade pay Rs.7000/- plus allowances.
Lecturers will
be reviewed at the end of 3 years for possible promotion to the post
of Assistant Professor
For the Assistant Professor
positions, the prospective candidates must
- have a Ph.D in the
relevant area
- have three years
of post-doctoral research experience (relaxable in exceptional cases),
and
- be preferably below
35 years of age.
The position
of Assistant Professors will be in PB-3 i.e. Rs.15,600-39,100 with minimum
pay of Rs.30,000/- with Grade pay Rs.8000/- plus allowances.
After completion of three years service in PB-3 they will be placed
in PB-4 i.e. Rs.37400-67000 with Grade pay of Rs.9000/- plus allowances.
For higher
positions, the prospective candidates, in addition to having a Ph.D
in the relevant area, are expected to have made outstanding contributions
in the chosen area of research and also guided doctoral students.
The position
of Associate Professor will be in PB-4 i.e. Rs.37,400-67,000
with minimum pay of Rs.42,800/- with Grade pay Rs.9500/- plus allowances.
The position
of Professor will be in PB-4 i.e. Rs.37,400-67,000 with minimum pay
of Rs.48,000/- with Grade pay of Rs.10,500/- plus allowances.
Women candidates
and applicants belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
are especially encouraged to apply.
Relocation expenses are covered up to institute-specified limits. This is currently Rs. 75,000 for candidates travelling from within India and Rs. 1,25,000 for candidates travelling from other countries. In addition to a start-up research grant of a few lakhs of rupees, the Institute gives an annual contingency grant for books, stationery, etc., travel support (this is currently Rs. 3 Lakhs for a sliding period of three years) for attending International Conferences, This is typically supplemented by travel support from industry partners and government agencies. Reimbursement (currently 75%) of annual membership fee of an international professional body, full funding for attending one national conference per year, reimbursement of a part of the expenses on personal
telephone/mobile, loan for purchase of computers, etc., are available. The faculty and their families are covered by an attractive Contributory Health services Scheme. To the new faculty modest on-campus accommodation is also provided.
