Maple is a computer algebra system, with powerful symbolic, numeric and graphics routines.
In which systems is MAPLE available ?
  MAPLE ( Version V.3 ) is currently available in all the IBM 590 and 591 Servers, and the IBM 43P and 340 Workstations in SERC
   
How to invoke MAPLE ?
  Type maple from the command prompt to invoke MAPLE. You can also use xmaple for an X-window version of the software. These files are located in the directory /usr/bin which will normally be included in your default search path.
 
What are the things possible with MAPLE ?
 
In simplest terms, MAPLE is an enviorment for doing mathematics -- symbolic, numerical and graphical. The functionality of MAPLE covers the following areas:
  Linear Algebra
  Calculus
  Geometry
  Statistics
  Data visualization and function plotting.
 
Like MATLAB and MATHEMATICA, MAPLE can also be used as a programming language
 
Where do I get help ?
 
MAPLE is an interactive package with on-line help. To get an overview, type tutorial(); from the MAPLE prompt.
  MAPLE reference manuals are available in SERC library.
